2015 International CES

GEEK heaven.  TechyMike will plan on going next year!

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) runs this year, in Las Vegas, from Jan 5 (for Keynotes and such) while the exhibit floor will be open Jan 6 thru 9.

The CES traditionally is THE place for consumer facing vendors (see, I still know how to use buzz words, haha) to announce their latest products for the consumer market.

Visit these sites to see very detailed and cool overviews of what technology will be at the CES, and go to CNET for live show updates next week:

One of the major focuses this year is the “Internet of Things”.  WTF is that you ask?  Well……one of the quotes in the Press Release below explains very nicely what is meant by “The Internet of Things”, I will copy it here:

“The ‘Internet of Things’ is the hottest topic in tech right now,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, International CES and corporate business strategy, CEA. “It’s all about the opportunity to connect everyday items  like cars, home security systems and kitchen appliances to networked devices like PCs and smartphones for greater control and management of our everyday lives. We’re excited that the 2015 CES will bring together all of the companies and products that are making this a reality.”

It appears as though the exhibit floor will be split into East and West areas.  I took the liberty of copying the technology that will be highlighted in each of these areas.  Free advertising for CES, I am sure they don’t mind….
